for Quicker CA-IDMS Read, Load, and Update
ASG-Fast Access reduces your processing time for CA-IDMS database read, load, and update jobs. Fast Access performs I/O by acquiring extra buffer storage and loading it by track– or cylinder-increments – satisfying program requests for I/O at higher CPU speeds. For batch jobs that sequentially access the IDMS database, Fast Access reduces processing time. As its name suggests, Fast Access gives you faster access to vital information and increases throughput without introducing costly system upgrades.
- Accelerates your local mode jobs, especially database loads and IDMS utilities
- Transfers data from disk to memory in amounts that are optimized for the behavior of each job and job step
- Constantly monitors job performance and automatically adjusts the number of buffers (within user-defined limits), auto-tuning for optimum performance levels
