for Performance Monitoring and Management of IBM z/OS UNIX Systems Services (USS) and Applications
ASG-TMON for Web Services is a member of the ASG-TMON performance management solution suite. It is a complete performance monitoring solution for IBM’s z/OS UNIX System Services (USS), HTTP Server, and WebSphere Application Server (WAS). As you migrate distributed UNIX platform work to the z platform, or deploy applications under USS or WebSphere, USS performance management is critical to supporting business critical applications. ASG-TMON for Web Services is designed to facilitate traditional z/OS system programmer’s transition to managing UNIX on z/OS without requiring extensive UNIX knowledge.
- Provides real time analysis of USS, WAS, and HTTP
- Performs historical analysis of USS, WAS, and HTTP and includes the ASG-TMON Report Writer facility used by all ASG-TMON products
- Administer USS — Admin tools are provided for dynamic management of system definition parameters, viewing of security definitions, and daemon log and autostart files
- Monitors for exception conditions — accelerates diagnosis by defining and tailoring threshold conditions for specific environments and taking automated notification and corrective actions
- Tuning file systems — reduces the complexity of tuning the USS file systems to eliminate performance problems
