Course Description
This course covers the administration of the Rochade Data Warehouse Application. It explains how to setup the environment and also details the various tailoring options of the GUI and the Rochade Reconciliation.
- Overview of the Rochade Data Warehouse solution
- Installation of the solution
- Understanding and creation of Template-based and pre-defined reports for:
- Data Lineage
- Impact Analysis
- Other reports
- Creating graphics, with hotspots, to facilitate report invocation
- Overview of the Rochade Reconciliation Toolkit
- How to modify the Toolkit to support import of other 3rd party metadata
- Explanation of the built-in procedures
Course Content
This course consists of 8 modules and lab exercises.
Module 1 - Overview:
- Course and Data Warehouse solution overview
- Introduction to the Data Warehouse solution architecture
- Explanation of issues facing organizations within the Data Warehouse metadata arena
Module 2 - Installation:
- Instructor-led installation of the Data Warehouse solution
Module 3 - Tailoring Part 1:
- Creating Template-based and Pre-defined reports of the following types:
- Data Lineage
- Impact Analysis
- Other reports
Module 4 - Tailoring Part 2:
- Importing graphics for use as navigation maps
- Creating hotspots for the dialogs and defining Data Warehouse reports to run from these hotspots
- Creating different user views for the solution
Module 5 - Reconciliation Toolkit Introduction:
- Introduction to the Toolkit item types and architecture
- Brief look at SRAP and some of the built-in procedures
- Recommendations on how to tailor the Toolkit
Module 6 - Reconciliation Toolkit Investigation:
- Exploration of Transformer maps
- Item identification
- Item naming
- Namespaces
- Item attributes
- References
- Preproc and postproc options
- Built-in procedures
Module 7 - Customizing Transformer maps:
- Instructor-led tailoring to modify the history attribute
Module 8 - Customizing Transformer maps:
- How to create a new Transformer “suite”
Course Prerequisites
Participants should be experienced Rochade administrators who are familiar with all aspects of Rochade and WebAccess Administration Some knowledge of Java, JavaScript and Rochade’s SRAP would also aid understanding Knowledge gained on the following courses is mandatory (or experience to this level of expertise): ASG-Rochade - WebAccess Administrator course, ASG-Rochade - System Administrator course Knowledge gained on the following course would be useful, but it is not essential: ASG-Rochade - WebAccess Developer
