Course Description

This course covers the user aspect of the Rochade Data Warehouse solution. It explains how to navigate the through the metadata brought into the Rochade repository from the Data Warehouse environment.

• Overview of the Rochade Data Warehouse solution.
• Favourites, icons, pop-ups and navigation maps.
• The Meta Finder; When and how to use it.
• Introduction to the different item type dialogs within the solution.
  • How they differ from the standard WebAccess options.
• Understand the different types of reports:
  • Pre-defined and Template reports
  • Data Lineage
  • Impact Analysis
  • Other reports
• Provide non-technical users with instruction on WebAccess Discovery navigation

Course Content

This course consists of 4 modules and Lab exercises.

Module 1 - Overview:

• Course and Data Warehouse solution overview
• Introduction to the Data Warehouse solution architecture
• Explanation of issues facing organizations within the Data Warehouse metadata arena
• Typical users of the ASG solution

Module 2 - Basics and Navigation:

• Introduction to navigation around the Data Warehouse solution
• Favorites, icons, pop-ups and navigation maps
• Rendering reports
• Introduction to the Meta finder

Module 3 - Working with dialogs:

• Introduction to Data Warehouse item dialogs
• Data warehouse-specific graphical reports and how to use them

Module 4 - Working with Reports:

• Standard reports and how to create/render them
• Pre-defined and Template reports
• Data Lineage, Impact Analysis and Other reports
