Real-Time Monitoring Across the Enterprise

Track resource usage and process activity at the business service level and physical component level (e.g., server, database, application, network, operating system, application server or online transaction processing level, storage, and third-party applications). ASG-TMON Real-Time typically offers the lowest overhead of any products in the category.

Automatic Alerts to Key Personnel

Important alerts are sent via e-mail to wireless devices, application-to-application messages, or via WTO console messages on the IBM z/OS mainframe. ASG-TMON Real-Time allows you to be proactive in managing the environment by enabling you to set thresholds (e.g., information, warning, critical) based on any metric. Alerts can be organized by specific business service or set to inform at the infrastructure component level. ASG-TMON Real-Time has a uniquely robust and flexible exception manager that can be set to have shift sensitivity (i.e. 8:00 p.m.–5:00 a.m.) and allow cascading conditions.

ASG-TMON Real-Time also enables tracing of individual transactions, terminals, and applications via the Supertrace facility. Supertrace is a super-granular data collector, either manual or initiated, that traces data at a very low technical level without intensive resource consumption.

Automatic Response Measures that Prevent Application Degradation and Outages

Because ASG-TMON Real-Time relies on policy-based Performance Management, you can quickly and easily set policies (i.e., exception/alert definitions) to define thresholds for various metrics and define which actions to take when conditions are not normal. When a threshold is exceeded, ASG-TMON Real-Time can issue any type of command to start, stop, or cancel processes. On the mainframe, virtually anything that can be issued from a z/OS console can also be issued from ASG-TMON Real-Time. ASG-TMON Real-Time improves staff effectiveness, thereby increasing and maintaining business efficiency.
